Role of ComTech
ComTech is a forum that facilitates consultation between the TGA and representatives from the complementary and over-the-counter medicines industries.
The Terms of Reference for ComTech are:
- Discuss strategic issues affecting all sectors.
- Prioritise and discuss issues of a regulatory and technical nature, relevant to TGA sponsors and manufacturers, arising from current regulation and propose solutions.
- Provide a forum for members to raise regulatory or technical issues of concern, both current and emerging, faced by the TGA, the representative associations or members of the Complementary and Over the Counter Medicines sectors generally.
- Identify opportunities to improve current regulatory practices and compliance.
Membership
Membership of ComTech comprises representatives from:
- Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)
- Accord Australasia
- Association of Therapeutic Goods Consultants (ATGC)
- Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA)
- Consumer Health Products Australia (CHPA)
Meetings
ComTech meetings are usually held biannually in Canberra at the TGA.
