A market action addresses a problem or concern with a product supplied in Australia.
There are four types of market actions you should be aware of – a recall, product alert, product correction, and a quarantine.
Market actions can affect products used in hospitals and health facilities, as well as products sold by wholesalers and retailers (such as pharmacies, supermarkets and online stores) to Australian consumers.
If a problem with a product poses a serious risk to public health and safety, or when the end users cannot be traced, we publish a statement on our website and social media to inform the public.
You can see our latest statements for significant actions at the bottom of this page, or search our Database of Recalls, Product alerts and Product Corrections (DRAC) for all published market actions.
