Ingredients in therapeutic goods

Therapeutic goods can only contain approved ingredients with approved names.

Ingredients can be used in many types of therapeutic goods, they are not limited to the formulation of medicines. For example: 

  • preservative media for tissues

  • adhesives in devices 

  • fragrances in disinfectants. 

Ingredients can range from single molecules (for example, folic acid) to complex natural mixtures (for example, herbal extracts).
