Transfer ownership of your electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) dossier

How to transfer products under a dossier, including steps for new and previous sponsors, sequence numbering, and what you need to provide.

For the new sponsor

When you acquire all products under a dossier, the dossier and related sequences transfer to you.

If you acquire only some products, new e-Identifiers (e-ID) will be assigned for those. This is called a partial transfer.

To find out how to request an e-ID, read Submit data in electronic Common Technical Document (eCTD) format.

Start the first sequence of your new application with the next sequence number from the old e-ID. This shows evaluators that the medicine was initially reviewed under a different identifier.

Include the old e-ID in the cover letter of your new eCTD application.

For the previous sponsor (partial transfer)

Continue future sequences for remaining medicines under the initial e-ID as usual.

Remove documents relating to transferred medicines from the envelope starting with the next sequence.

Mention their removal in the cover letter.
