Two sunscreen products, BEAUTI-FLTR Lustre Mineral SPF 50+ Illuminating Facial Sunscreen and MCoBeauty SPF 50+ MINERAL MATTIFYING SUNSCREEN, have been added to the table of recalled goods below.
Consumers are advised that several sunscreen products are being recalled by sponsors. This follows preliminary testing evidence indicating that the SPF levels of their products may be lower than what is claimed on their labels.
The recalled sunscreens listed in the table below use the same base formulation as Ultra Violette Lean Screen SPF 50+ sunscreen. For further information on this please see: Sunscreens using the same base formulation as Ultra Violette Lean Screen SPF 50+ sunscreen.
What should I do?
Check the table of products set out below.
If you have any of the affected goods, please return it to the place of purchase or contact the Sponsor (their contact details are in the table) for a refund.
Other sunscreens may be added to the table in the coming weeks. We will provide further updates if any other sunscreen products are recalled.
If you have any concerns or questions about SPF and use of sunscreens, please speak to your health professional.
What is SPF and what are the risks?
The TGA published information for consumers on 16 September 2025 on what the SPF number means and general guidance on the safe use of sunscreens. Please see: Sunscreen SPF testing - information for consumers.
There is a risk that a low SPF rating may increase the risk of sunburn during use and reduce the long-term effectiveness of preventing skin cancer.
