What is the problem?
The packaging may not be sealed properly, which can make the product non‑sterile or cause it to leak. Identified problems include an incompletely sealed foil liner and a folded tube seal that can leave a small gap.
What are the risks?
If the packaging of a sterile product is damaged or inadequate, there may be a risk of product contamination and subsequent infection if the product is used on an open wound. It could also lead to delays in treatment if the product cannot be used as intended.
What should I do?
If you have purchased one of the above batches of the product, do not use it. Contact Comvita at hello@comvita.com to arrange a credit and be advised on returns and disposal of stock.
