TGC out of session meeting, February 2008

Note: This summary has been prepared to provide advice of the Resolution made by the Therapeutic Goods Committee (TGC) out-of-session during February 2008.

Adoption of British Pharmacopoeia 2008

The Therapeutic Goods Committee recommends that:

• The definition of British Pharmacopoeia contained in the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 should be amended to refer to British Pharmacopoeia 2008;
• The date of effect of this amendment should be 1 July 2008; and
• Difficulties identified by stakeholders with the requirements of specific monographs should be addressed administratively on a case by case basis by the product regulator within the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
