Summary of proposed indication
EMBLAVEO (an antibacterial medication containing aztreonam and avibactam) is proposed to be used in adults to treat:
-complicated infections in the abdomen
-hospital-acquired pneumonia, including ventilator-associated pneumonia
-complicated urinary tract infections, including kidney infection (pyelonephritis)
It is also proposed as a treatment in adults for infections caused by certain types of bacteria (aerobic, Gram-negative) when there are few treatment options available.
