CARDIOXANE (dexrazoxane) is proposed to protect the heart from damage caused by certain anthracyclines, a class of chemotherapy medicines. It is also proposed to be used in adults to treat tissue damage caused by these medicines if they accidentally leak out of the vein into the surrounding healthy tissue during an intravenous infusion during treatment.
