Webinars with specific stakeholder groups to highlight progress made on finalisation of updates to TGO 110 and the MDSO for vaping devices
BACKGROUND
To support the broader legislative and regulatory reforms for regulation of importation, manufacture, and supply of vapes, TGA is working on to improve the product safety and quality standards for both vaping substances and vaping devices. We previously conducted two stakeholder consultations, in November 2022 and January 2024. Both these consultations and subsequent direct stakeholder engagements have contributed to the development of comprehensive reforms for product standards.
With the view to minimise the impact on the sector, the TGA has adopted a tiered approach towards implementation of changes in the applicable TGA standards. The first stage of changes was implemented in January 2024, and the second stage of changes are likely to be implemented in December 2024, which will include further updates to Therapeutic Goods (Standard for Therapeutic Vaping Goods) Order 2021, (referred to as ‘TGO110’) and the Medical Devices Standards Order (MDSO), as covered in this Webinar.
