These changes have been made to make the Poisons Standard clearer and easier to understand, and ensure that it meets contemporary legislative drafting requirements. Background
The new Poisons Standard (Therapeutic Goods (Poisons Standard - February 2023) Instrument 2022) is now published on the Federal Register of Legislation and will commence on 1 February 2023.
The instrument is published in advance to allow time for states and territories to make necessary changes to their respective legislation that may refer to specific parts of the Poisons Standard.
