Consultation: Future regulation of assistive technologies

This consultation closed on 31 October 2024.

We invited stakeholders to provide feedback on proposed changes to the regulation of assistive technologies.

The consultation was open for feedback from 22 July 2024 to 31 October 2024 through an online survey hosted on the consultation hub.

Outcome of the consultation

The TGA received 25 submissions from a range of stakeholders, including manufacturers, sponsors, healthcare providers specialising in assistive devices and allied health, hospitals, consumers, regulatory affairs consultants and state and territory governments.

A summary of responses has been published on the TGA Consultation Hub, along with individual responses from those who agreed to have their submissions published. 

Next steps

The TGA has reviewed the feedback provided from this consultation. 

Feedback will inform internal discussions and further consultations with stakeholders. 

Stakeholders will be updated about any further consultations or related policy updates.
