About the notified vape lists

These lists contain vaping substances, vaping devices, vaping kits and vaping accessories that have been notified by a product sponsor to comply with quality standards, including the Therapeutic Goods (Standard for Therapeutic Vaping Goods) (TGO 110) Order 2021 and Therapeutic Goods (Medical Device Standard - Therapeutic Vaping Devices) Order 2023 (MDSO).  

The goods included in this list have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety and efficacy or performance.

Product information has been self-declared by sponsors and the TGA cannot guarantee and assumes no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, currency, completeness or interpretation of the information. It is an offence to provide false or misleading information to a government agency.

The TGA will conduct routine compliance assessments as part of ongoing compliance monitoring. 

Information for prescribers and pharmacists

These lists are designed to:

• support prescribers and pharmacists in prescribing and supplying unapproved therapeutic vaping goods for smoking cessation or the management of nicotine dependence
• ensure pharmacists stock therapeutic vaping goods that comply with applicable standards for lawful supply in Australia.  

Prescribers and pharmacists involved in prescribing, dispensing and supply of unregistered therapeutic vaping products must comply with both Commonwealth and state/territory legislation.

Prescribers and pharmacists must only supply products in their final dosage form (finished product) directly to a patient.

Pharmacists cannot dispense component ingredients for consumers to use to mix their own substances. Mixing or dilution of a vaping substance is considered compounding and therefore must be undertaken by a pharmacist with consent from the TGA.

Inclusion in these lists does not guarantee the product is available.

The TGA is unable to provide advice in relation to specific products in these lists and recommends contacting the relevant sponsor.
