This dashboard displays all Authorised Prescriber applications for medicinal cannabis products approved by the TGA. The Authorised Prescriber pathways allow authorised medical practitioners to supply therapeutic goods (such as medicines, medical devices, or biologicals) that are not included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) to a class of patients with a particular medical condition without the need for individual patient approvals.
Special Access Scheme Category A and Special Access Scheme Category B data is also available.
Click the graph details below and apply filters using the green tick to update the graphs and data. All the graphs will update with focused data. Filters can be removed by clicking the ‘clear selections’ box. Selected data filters are applied to the ‘bulk export’ for download as an excel spreadsheet.

Authorised Prescriber Applications
Category based approvals
Medicinal cannabis category-based approvals came into effect November 2021 and applications approved prior to this date were tradename based. As they cannot be assessed under the individual categories these approvals have been grouped under the 'Pre-Category Approval' heading.
Authorised Prescriber approval pathways
In November 2021 some medicinal cannabis products were included in the TGA’s list of medicines with an established history of use (12B(1C)). Prior to this, all medicinal cannabis approvals were through the Standard (HREC/Specialist college) pathway.

Patient Information
Patient figures displayed may not be a complete representation of the total number of patients supplied medicinal cannabis products through the Authorised Prescriber scheme. Authorised Prescribers are required to submit 6-monthly patient data and this data only accounts for prescribers who have submitted their 6 monthly reports to the TGA at the time of the dashboard update. As we continue to receive outstanding reports, patient numbers may change.
