COSENTYX (secukinumab) is proposed to treat polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults. PMR is an inflammatory condition that causes widespread muscle pain and severe stiffness. Cosentyx is proposed to be used when corticosteroids have not worked well enough, if symptoms return as the corticosteroid dose is reduced, or when glucocorticoids cannot be taken. Corticosteroids and glucocorticoids are anti-inflammatory drugs.
