What is the problem?
Aidacare Pty Ltd has updated the Instructions for Use (IFU) for the Aspire A205 Aluminium Patient Lifter, following a serious adverse event involving a death. The IFU has been enhanced to strengthen existing instructions around correct and incorrect sling attachment methods and pre-use checks.
This action commenced in April 2026. Aidacare is now attempting to reach a small number of customers who cannot be identified.

What are the risks?
Improper attachment of slings to the sling bar can result in patient falls, leading to severe injury or death.
What should I do?
- Be aware that improper attachment of slings to the sling bar can result in patient falls, leading to severe injury or death.
- Download and print the updated IFU from the Aidacare website.
- Contact Aidacare if you are unable to print the IFU, and a user manual will be arranged for dispatch.
