Survey link: Digital Mental Health Tools User Survey
Survey open: 17 December 2025 - 11 February 2026
Digital mental health tools (DMHTs) include apps, websites or computer programs that are used to understand, manage or treat mental health concerns.
We’re seeking information from people who use or recommend DMHTs, as part of a review into how these software-based products - including those using artificial intelligence (AI) - should be regulated in Australia.
We want to hear about:
- what kinds of DMHTs you use and how you access them
- how you decide if a DMHT is safe and effective
- what information helps you choose the right DMHT
- how these DMHTs have changed clinician-patient interactions
- any concerns you have about safety or effectiveness of DMHTs
- your expectations for regulation of DMHTs in Australia.
The survey is open to individuals who use DMHTs, and people who refer or recommend DMHTs, such as clinicians, health professionals and other organisations or service providers in the mental health sector. Responses are anonymous and are expected to take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
Insights gathered will help guide advice to the Australian Government about what DMHTs are available, the risks associated with their use and options for how they should be regulated.
