A market action addresses a problem or concern with a product supplied in Australia.

There are four types of market actions you should be aware of – a recall, product alert, product correction, and a quarantine.

Market actions can affect products used in hospitals and health facilities, as well as products sold by wholesalers and retailers (such as pharmacies, supermarkets and online stores) to Australian consumers.

If a problem with a product poses a serious risk to public health and safety, or when the end users cannot be traced, we publish a statement on our website and social media to inform the public.
