Access disrupted under section 313(3) of the Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth)
Access to this webpage has been disrupted at the request of the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department), on the basis that disruption is reasonably necessary to enforce the criminal law or a law imposing a pecuniary penalty.
Reason why access to this webpage is disrupted
The Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth) enables Commonwealth agencies to request Internet Service Providers to disrupt access by blocking websites containing suspected unlawful material.
Parts 5-1 and 5-1A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth) regulate advertising of therapeutic goods and vaping goods, while Chapter 2 of the Public Health (Tobacco and Other Products) Act 2023 (Cth) regulates advertising of tobacco products.
A member of the Senior Executive Service within the Department has formed the view that this webpage contravenes one or more provisions of Part 5-1 or 5-1A of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth) Act, or Chapter 2 of the Public Health (Tobacco and Other Products) Act 2023 (Cth) and has made a request to disrupt access to this webpage.
