Consumer level recall

We have notified Johnson & Johnson Pacific that we are undertaking a consumer level recall of selected lots of 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contact lenses, as a precautionary measure.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has been notified by Johnson & Johnson Pacific that it is undertaking a consumer level recall of selected lots of 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contact lenses, as a precautionary measure.

The lot numbers which may be affected are:

  • 492439
  • 492441
  • 492443
  • 492445
  • 492452
  • 492453
  • 492460
  • 502111
  • 502167

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc (the US manufacturer of the 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contact lens) has identified a manufacturing problem following an investigation of overseas reports of consumers experiencing pain and discomfort on lens insertion.

To date no adverse events have been reported to the TGA in relation this product.

If you have lenses from any of the affected lots, you should return these to your optometrist to obtain replacements. If you have any concerns about the use of this product you should consult your health care practitioner.
