Therapeutic Goods (Listing) Notice 2000 (No. 4)

Therapeutic Goods Act 1989

I, TERRY SLATER, National Manager, Therapeutic Goods Administration, acting on behalf of the Minister for Health and Aged Care and under subsection 17 (5) of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989, require the following therapeutic goods to be included in the part of the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods for listed goods:

1. a preparation for external use, or for inhalation, that contains as an active ingredient oil derived from the root or stem wood of the species Santalum spicatum;
2. a preparation for external use:
   1. that contains, as an active ingredient, oil derived from the leaf of the species Backhousia citriodora; and
   2. in which the concentration of that oil does not exceed 10 milligrams per gram of the preparation; and
   3. that is supplied with a label that includes statements to the following effect:
      1. if skin irritation occurs, discontinue use;
      2. not recommended for use by children aged 12 years, and under;
      3. not recommended for use by pregnant and lactating women.
