Webinar: 2021 Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code

This webinar will guide advertisers through the new Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code 2021. We will highlight the changes to the 2021 Code compared to the 2018 Code and explain compliance obligations for advertisers during the six-month transition period from 1 July 2022 when the 2018 Code will be repealed.

Background

After 18 months of consultation, on 29 November 2021 the TGA signed the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code 2021 into law. This Code comes into effect on 1 January 2022. The period for advertisers to transition their material to the new amended rules will be 6 months where both the 2018 and 2021 Codes will apply. On 1 July 2022, advertisers are required to comply with the 2021 Code.

This webinar is aimed to teach advertisers and industry groups about the 2021 Code, highlighting the differences between the 2018 and 2021 Codes, TGA's expectations, and what advertisers can do during the transition period from 1 January to 30 June 2022.
