Presolol 100 (labetalol 100 mg) shortage and substitution instrument extended

As the shortage of Presolol 100 (labetalol hydrochloride 100 mg) tablets has been extended to mid-November 2025, we have extended the Therapeutic Goods (Serious Scarcity and Substitutable Medicine) (Labetalol) Instrument 2025 (SSSI) to 31 December 2025. This instrument allows pharmacists to substitute the prescribed labetalol 100 mg with labetalol 200 mg, if appropriate, without a new prescription.
