Read the Consumer Medicines Information leaflet

4 February 2015

Medical Channel is a company that provides information for patients and carers on TV screens in waiting rooms. The Therapeutic Goods Administration has been working with Medical Channel to provide short video clips for the channel.

Please note that Medical Channel does not use audio as waiting rooms are intended to be quiet places.

The Consumer Medicines Information leaflet tells you about the safe use of prescription and some over-the-counter medicines.

CMIs are important because they tell you:

  • how to take your medicines
  • the ingredients
  • warnings
  • precautions
  • known side effects

CMIs can be inside medicine packaging, or you can ask your pharmacist for a printed copy.

Alternatively, you can search for a CMI online.
