Improved TGA website search engine

Product Information and Consumer Medicine Information now included in search results

29 July 2014

We have upgraded our search engine to include Product Information (PI) and Consumer Medicines Information (CMI). Using the search box above you can look for products on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), if a PI or CMI is available it will be available in the search results as a pdf.

You can search by product names, active ingredients, AUST L numbers, AUST R numbers, sponsors and manufacturers to get information on products on the ARTG.

For all other information from the TGA website, you can continue to search using other keywords. For more information on how to search please see: Help with searching the TGA website.

Search results

Search results on the TGA website are divided into ARTG results and TGA website results.

ARTG results

Displays the three most recent ARTG entries relating to the product (or less if there are fewer entries). From here, you have the option of:

  • seeing more results from the ARTG
  • viewing an individual record - which also provides a direct link to the ARTG public summary
  • viewing the PI document (for prescription medicines)
  • viewing the CMI document (for prescription medicines)
  • utilising the advanced search function
  • seeing what has been added to the ARTG in the past 2, 7, 14 or 31 days

The search is updated nightly. The ARTG results have not been modified, and people familiar with the eBusiness portal can access and search the ARTG directly.
