Media release

The Commonwealth medicines watchdog, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), today added an extra 449 products to the list of medicines affected by the Pan Pharmaceuticals recall.

An updated list of these recalled products will be published in major metropolitan newspapers tomorrow (Thursday). The list has also been placed on the TGA's website at: www.tga.gov.au.

Further information is also available on the TGA website on www.tga.gov.au.

It brings the total number of recalled Pan products to 668.

This is not the final list of products to be recalled. Around 15 manufacturers have requested more time to supply details to the TGA of products that may have been manufactured by Pan.

The names of these remaining products will be collated and released as soon as possible.

Therapeutic Goods Administration principal medical adviser Dr John McEwen said it was likely there will be, at the very most, a further 300 products that would be recalled.

Further information about the products being recalled and products that may be manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals Ltd under other brands, visit the TGA website on www.tga.gov.au or phone the toll-free number 1800 220 007.
