Manufacturer audits are now termed inspections

Related information

29 April 2013

The TGA is changing its terminology - the word 'inspection' is replacing the word 'audit'.

TGA inspectors regularly conduct inspections of manufacturers using a risk-based approach. These inspectors were formerly known as auditors and the inspections were formerly known as audits.

This change in terminology aligns the TGA with the terminology used in the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 and the Therapeutic Goods Regulations 1990. It is also consistent with international standards.
