The Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) entry pathways for non-prescription medicines are based on the ingredients they contain and the therapeutic indications (claimed health benefits) they use.
The ARTG categories are:
- Listed medicines
- Assessed listed medicines
- Registered complementary medicines (RCM)
- Registered over-the-counter (OTC) medicines
