Help with searching the TGA website

14 August 2017

We have updated the search function on our website to help you find the information you need. Typing into the search box in the top right of every page will generate results from the TGA website as well as the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and the Product Information and Consumer Medicines Information databases.

As you type your search query into the search box, suggestions will appear in a drop down menu. This may assist if you're not sure exactly what to search for, or of the spelling of your search terms.

The results are broken into 'ARTG results' and 'Website results'.

If there are results from the ARTG, up to three ARTG records will be included at the top of the results page. Product Information and Consumer Medicines Information leaflets will be shown if they are available.

Did you mean?

If you make a mistake when typing in your search query, you will see a page with the question 'Did you mean:' with a list of suggestions.

Refining search results

When your search results appear, additional options for filtering your results will also appear along the left hand side of the page.

Depending on the nature of your search, these filters may include:

  • Category
  • Date
  • File format
  • Site section

Clicking any of these filters will apply them to your search results.

For example, you can choose to filter results to only those published in the last fortnight, only .pdf files or only search results from our 'industry' pages, or any other combination of filters.

If you only want to search the ARTG, visit the ARTG search page or click 'more results from the ARTG' link on the search results page.

Only information from the ARTG, Consumers Medicines Information (CMI) and Product Information (PI) will be provided in the results.

Advanced search

You have the option of conducting an advanced search.

Click on 'Advanced search +' underneath the search box and additional options will appear.
