Quad (4 X Point) Walking Stick

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) advises that Endeavour Industries brand Quad (4 X Point) Walking Sticks, Product Code X640, are being recalled. The product is an aluminium walking stick with a base of four legs and has an adjustable handle. The products are included on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) with ARTG number: 129396.

The Quad (4 X Point) Walking Stick being recalled is identifiable by the presence of an Endeavour Industries label.

Endeavour Industries is recalling this walking stick because it has been manufactured using a grade or gauge of aluminium tube which is inadequate. Bending of the handle has occurred in some cases at less than the recommended user weight. This product has also failed TGA static loading (strength) testing.

The product should be returned to Endeavour Industries Pty Ltd. Endeavour Industries will replace recalled walking sticks at no cost.

Information for consumers

• As a precaution, you should stop using the Quad (4 X Point) Walking Stick (Product Code X640) labelled with an Endeavour Industries sticker. If you do not have an alternate walking stick available, it is recommended that you limit use of the Quad (4 X Point) Walking Stick and be aware that the handle may bend unexpectedly. An alternate walking stick should be used if possible while waiting for a replacement.
• You should contact Endeavour Industries Customer Service line on  03 9703 2900 to arrange the return of the product and for an unaffected replacement.
• Please contact the same number if you have any questions about whether you may have an affected walking stick.
