In response to recommendation 4.61 contained in the Report of the Commonwealth Government's Taskforce on Reducing the Regulatory Burden on Business (the Banks Report), released in April 2006, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS) have released a consultation regulatory impact statement, for public comment. As a result of previous consultations, the agencies have identified a preferred position and the consultation is to obtain stakeholder feedback on the impact of the preferred option.

The consultation regulatory impact statement includes a survey of business.
In November 2009, consultation forums were held in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne where the proposals were presented and discussed. Comments received through these public forums will be used to inform a regulatory impact analysis, and in developing a final Government position.

All submissions will be placed on the TGA's and NICNAS's websites. For submissions made by individuals, all personal details other than your name will be removed from your submission before it is published on the TGA's and NICNAS's websites. Confidential material contained within submissions should be clearly marked. Reasons for a claim to confidentiality must be included. Where possible confidential material will be redacted from information published on the TGA's and NICNAS's websites.
