Expressions of interest
The TGA is seeking expressions of interest for two separate positions on the National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee (NDPSC). These positions are a medical practitioner with qualifications and expertise in clinical pharmacology and a person representing practising pharmacists. The NDPSC is a statutory committee established under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. It is responsible for determining the classification and scheduling of medicines and poisons. The NDPSC has a wide range of expert and professional members, with jurisdictional memberships from the Commonwealth, states and territories and New Zealand.
The responsibilities of these positions are to provide relevant input and expertise to all NDPSC deliberations. Further information on the NDPSC is available at Scheduling medicines/poisons <http://www.tga.gov.au/ndpsc/index.htm>.
The NDPSC meets three times a year, for three days per meeting. These meetings are held in February, June and October and all committee members are required to attend each meeting in its entirety. Remuneration and travel is in accordance with the latest determination of the Remuneration Tribunal. Members are bound by committee-in-confidence obligations as well as obligations to declare all potential conflicts of interest.
Expressions of interest should include:
- Statement of claims;
- Curriculum vitae;
- two referees (nominate referees or provide two references); and
- Phone, email and postal contact details
Expressions of interest should be sent to:
