Payment options

April 2007

The TGA provides a range of payment options for regulatory fees and charges and other amounts.

Key points

  • The TGA has online payment options for the payment of annual charges over the Internet - this is the preferred payment option where available.
  • Payment may also be made by cash (for amounts up to $1,000), cheque, credit card or direct deposit.
  • Full payment of a fee is required to release an application for processing.
  • All payments must be in Australian dollars.
  • Payments from overseas should include an additional amount to cover international bank fees.

Procedures

In 2006-07 the TGA introduced online payments in conjunction with its banking partner Westpac to improve services to clients and reduce administrative costs. It is the preferred payment method where it is available.

  • Online payments may be made by credit card (Mastercard, Visa and Bankcard) up to $15,000 or by direct debit to a cheque or savings account.
  • Online payments can now be made for annual charges and online applications (where available).
  • Online payment site (Westpac)

Credit card payments (Mastercard, Visa and Bankcard) up to $15,000 may also be made by submitting a completed TGA Credit Card Authorisation Form <http://www.tga.gov.au/fees/forms/creditcard.htm> and faxing the details to the TGA.

Cheques should be made payable to the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Please cross all cheques non negotiable and return the remittance advice with your payment.

Electronic funds transfers will be accepted following completion of an Electronic Funds Transfer Agreement Form <http://www.tga.gov.au/fees/forms/eft.htm> (to ensure the payment is correctly applied to your account). The form includes the TGA's bank account details.

Cash payments of up to $1,000 may be received at the TGA's main administrative office in Narrabundah Lane, Symonston ACT.

Payments from overseas can only be accepted in Australian denomination cheques, money orders or bank transfers. Payees should ensure their payment covers any international banking fees (where applicable).
