Item 2 Minutes of CMEC's 45th meeting
Recommendation 46.1
CMEC confirms that the draft Minutes of its previous meeting (CMEC 45, 23 April 2004), as amended, are a true and accurate record of that previous meeting.
Item 10.4 Matters referred from within TGA: Sulfites in medicines
Recommendation 46.5
CMEC notes the literature review prepared by the TGA on the safety of 'sulfites' in medicines and considers that there is not sufficient evidence to determine a level of exposure to 'sulfites' in medicines which is without risk to sensitive individuals. The CMEC reaffirms that all medicines containing 'sulfites' should be labelled in accordance with the current requirements of Therapeutic Goods Order No 69 >http://www.tga.gov.au/docs/html/tgo/tgo69.htm>.
