  • Prepare TGA's financial statements in accordance with Australian accounting standards and the Finance Minister's Orders
  • Oversight the preparation of the TGA's taxation and other statutory returns
  • Oversight TGA's FMIS, Great Plains, including maintenance of the chart of accounts, and liaison with the TGA's Information Technology section
  • Oversight the acquisition, development, custody and disposal of assets and analyse capital investment proposals
  • Develop and review financial and accounting policies and procedures, and assist in promoting their adoption within the TGA
  • Provide advice and analysis on a range of issues including policy, financial data and trends, and administrative matters to interested parties

  • In relation to requests to the TGA under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act) and from Courts and Tribunals (subpoenas/summonses):
    • Maintain TGA Legal Service Group's FOI Register and Subpoena Register
    • Allocate and track FOI requests and subpoenas/summonses across TGA to ensure timeliness of response
    • Liaise with the FOI Coordinator in the Department of Health and Ageing (DOHA) on FOI requests, and
    • Provide (under supervision of a Legal Officer) simple advice on FOI and subpoena processing matters
  • Liaise with TGA Information Access Coordinators, and attend as directed meetings with TGA Information Access Coordinators, in relation to issues relating to confidential information handling, including but not limited to:
    • FOI matters and procedure
    • Ombudsman matters and procedure
    • Privacy matters and procedure
    • Requests from Courts and Tribunals for documents (subpoenas, etc)
  • Coordinate TGA reporting on FOI, Ombudsman, Privacy Information Digest, section 8 and section 9 FOI updates and other reporting as required.
  • Assist Legal Officers in the processing of requests for confidential information including under FOI, subpoena/summons and the Privacy Act 1988, and also in relation to matters arising under the Ombudsman Act 1976.
  • Assist Legal Officers with development and delivery of legal training and OLS's legal information for TGA officers.
  • Maintain and monitor delegations and authorisations of TGA's functions.
  • Supervise and APS 3 officer in the performance of general administrative duties.
  • Collate financial information and statistics for OLS, and undertake /prepare financial reporting for OLS, as well as a range of other reporting functions required for OLS.
